Does a Thicker Paper Bag Mean It Can Hold More Weight?

The thickness of the paper is not the main factor that determines how much weight a paper bag can hold. This is similar to how the thickness of clothing does not necessarily correlate with its warmth. Modern technology has developed high-tech materials like graphene that are lightweight, comfortable, and warm. Some thermal wear, for example, is lighter yet warmer. Therefore, thicker paper does not necessarily mean the bag can hold more weight.

The load-bearing capacity of a paper bag depends more on various aspects of its forming process, such as the sturdiness of the sides, bottom, and seams. To ensure the bag's durability, we need to focus on using high-quality white glue during the forming process, paying attention to its concentration, uniformity, and properties. Quality control must be implemented, as the key is the tight adhesion between the glue and the paper, rather than solely relying on the thickness of the paper.

Even if the paper is thick, poor quality control during the forming process will prevent the bag from holding heavy items. Conversely, if the paper is thinner but the quality control during the forming process is stringent, the bag can hold more weight.

In summary, the thickness of the paper is not the primary factor that determines the weight a paper bag can hold.
